Facebook not reinventing the wheel

With the launching of a new email service, and taking advantage of the company’s tremendous pull, Mark Zuckerberg’s giant social networking service provider is not reshaping email, texting, buzzing or any other tool for web communication and sharing. There are other companies that have been doing the same, such as New York city startup GroupMe.

Google will to have move quickly and seriously if it does not want to lose out on this one. A while ago they launched Buzz and Wave as tools
with similar features, but these were not promoted, or shall we say, socially networked enough to be the success that all the hype anticipates for Facebook’s new service.

This is good for them, for healthy competition, and should improve communication between humans, devices and tools by allowing them to better interact with each other; but it certainly does not mean they are reinventing anything.
